Girls and women are not left out in the Kikuyu Constituency Annual Walk that has helped hundreds of children gain access to education.
Owing to the power of education in transforming an individual and community, women are usually in the frontline in supporting initiatives towards the education of children.
This is evident through outdoor activities that include walks and also annual dinners and even intense fundraising.
The annual walk is under KICE – Kikuyu Constituency Education – Foundation that was the brainchild of the Kikuyu Constituency MP Kimani Ichung’wah.
The foundation also organizes dinner to raise money towards ensuring that every bright child in the constituency is educated.
“It is our joy to see needy children enjoy equal opportunities when it comes to academic excellence. This is why we organize events annually to ensure we equip the learner with a chance to acquire quality education,” said MP Ichung’wah.
The foundation is established on Christian values and morals. It also encourages talent development and academic excellence.
Beneficiaries also enjoy mentoring in a coordinated fashion that encourages teacher-learner interaction on matters affecting individuals in and out of school.
