Embrace Kenya has dared Inua Mama to ‘go big or go home’ as they visit an African President
Is the Embrace Kenya women group eyeing the seat of Deputy President during the 2022 elections? Will they push for one of their Members to occupy this top seat? Remember Governors Anne Waiguru and Charity Ngilu are members of Embrace Kenya.
These are some of the questions raised by Kenyans after pictures emerged of the Embrace Group visiting former Malawi President Joyce Hilda Banda, the first female President in the country.
This visit by representatives of the Embrace Kenya women group has shocked their rivals ‘Inua Mama Kenya’ too. They were led by CAS Rachel Shebesh, Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi, and Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.
The team has deliberately stretched their tentacles to Africa, the continent, in a deliberate search for wisdom nuggets in their quest for political relevance especially with calls to reduce the number of women seats that is contrary to the Bills of Rights in the Constitution.
On their twitter account, @embrace_ke wrote, “Our team meeting HE Dr. Joyce Banda this morning discussing women’s leadership in Africa.” They, however, did not divulge much on the details of their meeting.
Who is Joyce Banda?
Ms. Banda was the fourth President of Malawi and served for two years. She is a grassroots women’s rights activist, an educator and also served the country as Member of Parliament, Minister of Gender and Child Welfare, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice President among other roles.
