Captain Dorcas Shikobe led the Harambee Starlets in lifting the Africa Women Cup of Nations (CECAFA) trophy after they beat Tanzania 2-0.
The starlets scored 22 goals throughout the tournament in their splendid unbeaten feat.
It is the first time Kenya has such a trophy in their cabinet and is a cause for ardent celebration.
Although the team was received at the JKIA with pomp and colour, and a truck, the Starlets did not enjoy riding through the streets and celebrating the win with fellow Kenyans because of the rains and heavy traffic.
The Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed was also not in the country during their arrival.
The Starlets were also treated to food and drinks at the three-star Utalii hotel.
Maybe, the President needs to celebrate the players who lifted the Kenyan brand throughout the continent, through a grand tour of the Capital, Nairobi and other goodies!
