With a high profile blossoming profession in the media, Jackie Maribe, a former Citizen TV news anchor, was at the peak of her career until one day, her entire world came crashing down, and she lost everything in a blink of an eye.
A murder case of Juba (South Sudan) businesswoman Monica Kimani, where Jacque Maribe is a prime suspect with his ex-lover Jowie Irungu has shocked many in Kenya and the region.
Jacqui Maribe admitted rushing into a relationship with his ex-lover Jowie. Bewildering obsession, demeanours compelled the relationship and quick decision-making has almost rendered Jacque Maribe a jailbird.
The chief investigating officer handling the murder case told the court that the clothes the first accused, Jowie Irungu, was wearing that day were destroyed through burning by the accused persons. He said Joseph Irungu and Jacque Maribe allegedly jointly murdered the 29-year-old Juba-based businesswoman in September 2018.
The hearing has been adjourned to July 11th this year.
Kenyans are on edge following the proceedings of this case due to the popularity of Jacque Maribe as a news anchor, who was a frequent face in State House especially due to her friendship with Dennis Itumbi, who was a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta before they fell out.
