Chief Justice Martha Koome
Chief Justice Martha Koome was present during the swearing-in of Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the third Deputy President at the KICC, Nairobi.

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru challenged the presence of Chief Justice Martha Koome at the swearing-in of the third Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki on 1st November 2024 at the KICC, Nairobi.

However, the legal fraternity needs to ask and answer some key questions regarding professional conduct noting that the person who was sworn in has vast knowledge of local and international law, attaining the level of a Professor.

In addition, Prof. Kindiki has been televised prosecuting cases as far as the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Netherlands, and would not want to taint his career journey with a blatant failure to the laws of Kenya.

However, CJ Koome is entrusted with the Judiciary by the people of Kenya, to protect them from any misinterpretation of the law in our courts. She, therefore, carries responsibility if any malpractices, or unfairness were observed.

The people of Kenya are observing if the ousted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will push for an appeal of his case over his removal from office in only two years of serving the country in the second most powerful office.
