About 500 women and girls have been killed in Kenya since 2016, according to Africa Data Hub. Mary Njeri a gender-based violence analyst at UN Women stated “The shocking reality that at least 10 women have been killed in the first month of 2024”
Throughout Kenya,41 percent of women who have been married have experienced physical violence, compared to 20 percent of those who have not been married.
