Lydia Tokesi, 29, a resident of Rongai, took loan to buy boyfriend a car which he used to run a cab business.
On Sunday after going missing for one week her mutilated body was found in Gataka forest.
Police suspect Tokesi was killed by her boyfriend whom she was last seen with at his rented house in Rongai.
Police also said the man used the car to transport Tokesi’s mutilated body.
The car was found abandoned on a road near the house of Tokesi’s parents.
Her family said the two had been dating for close to eight years, since when she joined Moi University to study communications.
She was an employee at Kasha Technologies.
The man, Joseph Philip Orwa, is on the run
