Pastor Elizabeth Githigi’s mysterious death inside a wardrobe at the home of gospel artist Mirugi Dishon shocked the nation.
Initially reported as a suicide, Mirugi claimed he found her lifeless body and drove around Thika Road attempting to get police and mortuary personnel to accept it—allegedly without success. An autopsy later confirmed she died from asphyxiation, suggesting the possibility of either stra–ngulation or ha–nging.
Despite this, the case was hastily dismissed, and Mirugi was released, though the case file remains technically open
In a shocking twist, new developments have cast suspicion on Mirugi’s wife, Wangari Muthuma. Monica Maina, a married woman and the Chairlady of Flying Eagle International Ministry Church in Juja, has publicly accused Wangari of being involved in Pastor Elizabeth’s death.
Monica, who was allegedly romantically involved with Mirugi, sent threatening messages to Wangari following the exposure of their affair, further deepening the mystery surrounding the case.
The fallout from these allegations led Wangari to take drastic steps, including evicting Mirugi from her home in Muthaiga North and seeking legal protection after he reportedly stalked and spied on her property and business. Wangari formally reported the harassment, prompting police to arrest Monica.
Though she was released on police bail, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCI has since launched an official inquiry into the threats against Wangari’s life.
As Monica prepares to appear in court and take a plea on Thursday, calls for justice grow louder.
We are urging the relevant authorities to reopen Pastor Elizabeth Githigi’s case in light of these new revelations. The emerging leads, questionable dismissal of the initial case, and lingering inconsistencies demand a full and transparent investigation. Pastor Elizabeth deserves justice, and the truth must come to light.
We are calling for the immediate reopening of this case. The evidence suggests that Pastor Elizabeth Githigi may have been murdered, contrary to the original conclusions presented to the public. It is deeply troubling that crucial forensic leads were overlooked and that the initial investigation appears to have been rushed or deliberately compromised.
Justice must prevail, and the truth must come to light—for the sake of her family and the community that trusted her.
