Lizz Njeri Mwangi, 17, has been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of 3-year-old Margaret Wanjiru Kirathe in Menengai, Nakuru County.
The toddler was discovered unconscious near PCEA Shalom Mchanganyiko Church and later pronounced dead at Kenlands Hospital.
According to preliminary investigations, the teenager allegedly lured Margaret away from the church and strangled her using a piece of cloth. Lizz was arrested at her home in Judea Village, where police recovered the clothes she wore during the incident—clothing that had been identified through CCTV footage.
She remains in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.
