In a private video, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is seen in casual wear, a jungle green jumper, speaking to thousands living in the country and beyond.
Her subject, just like most leaders in this season of 2020 is all about
the Corona Virus.
She speaks to the reality of the numbers of people infected with the virus growing to the thousands through a steep rise over a period of time this is despite her country reporting low cases of death.
PM Ardern, a leader not to instill fear in people, is hopeful, and encourages people not to lose heart but observe the World Health Organisation (WHO) directives to stop the spread of the virus.
She particularly emphasizes on self-isolation even when dealing with aged parents and grandparents who are susceptible to being infected according to reports from across the world.
“Check on the elderly by giving them a call and finding out what they need, and then dropping off, any commodities, at the front door. The only way we can keep the elderly safe is by keeping our distance,” she said.
The Prime Minister reminds everybody to “Stay at home, break the chain and thus save lives.”
