Deborah Mlongo Barasa has been removed from the Ministry of Health and appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has also been dismissed from the Cabinet. Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku has been nominated as the new Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes. In contrast, Hannah Wendot the widow to the late Senator William Cheptumo has been nominated as the new Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage. Aden Duale has been reassigned to the Ministry of Health. These appointments are subject to parliamentary approval before the nominees take office.
