A political women group has planned to have a meeting with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) on Thursday.

The EMBRACE Kenya women will be tabling their proposals to the BBI team at the KICC in Nairobi from 9 am.

The political faction said to support the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, is led by CAS Rachel Shebesh and Homabay Women Rep Gladys Wanga.

The EMBRACE Kenya team wrote on Twitter, “We shall be tabling our proposals to the BBI Team tomorrow making the case for Kenyan women.”

The BBI team comprises Chairman Yusuf Haji, Vice-Chairman Adams Oloo, Busia Senator Amos Wako, Ole Ronkei, Agnes Muthama, and Said Mwaguni.

The women group says that their mandate is to protect, safeguard and advance the gains of women through the constitution, reforms and policy implementation.

Another women group is Inua Mama, said to support the Deputy President and the recently launched Kanu Women Congress.

The umbrella group for all women parliamentarians is Kewopa led by Kirinyaga women representative Wangui Ngirichi.
